Macie’s Story

Just a few months after Macie was born, she was diagnosed with a stage 4 brain tumor. She underwent two brain resections and has been on a nightly chemo ever since. This particular chemo is a new clinical trial that doesn’t have much research done on it yet but so far it is working well for Macie. She has been on it for 3.5 years with no return of the tumor. This is truly a miracle! Macie will have scans again in January to ensure things remain stable. Through it all Macie’s family sticks together reminding each other that they are “in it together”. They love to go to the park, take walks and travel! The future often feels uncertain and scary because of Macie’s diagnosis but they continue forward, enjoying every moment together and taking it a day at a time.
