Kinzley’s Story

On June 20, 2025 Kinzley spiked a fever and had been complaining of leg pain. After a few hours, her parents became uneasy and took her in to the hospital. They were thinking this was probably another virus and they wanted to get some care so their girl could start getting better. However, once at the hospital, Kinzley’s bloodwork came back with some concerns. This led to more testing and the doctor sending them on to the Children’s Hospital because some of her results could indicate cancer. Kinzley’s mom said that once the doctor said the word “cancer” her heart dropped and everything seemed to stop. A few hours later, Kinzley was diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This launched them into days of doctor in and out discussing treatment plans, a lumbar puncture, a bone marrow biopsy, blood and platelet transfusions, chemo starting and a picc line being placed.

On July 1st they were able to go home! Just three days later Kinzley spiked another fever sending them back to the hospital for a week long stay. Kinzley is continuing to relearn how to walk on her own again after not being able to walk from pain and losing muscle in her legs. She now has her port placed and is looking ahead at a long road of procedures and chemotherapy. Through it all Kinzley has remained the sweetest, sassiest, bravest little girl! Her family said that “Although none of this seems fair or makes sense to us, we are choosing to have faith that the Lord is with us and He has a plan for each and every one of us.” This belief inspired the design of their shirt using the scripture they are clinging to during this time!
